Deklarasi Gelang Patah Rugikan India
Ketua Parlimen Dap, Lim Kit Siang sudah tersilap langkah umum awal-awal mahu bertanding di kerusi parlimen Gelang Patah. Tindakan Kit Siang itu sebenarnya menempah maut kerana Johor adalah tempat kelahiran UMNO dan kubu kuat parti itu. Tidak mungkin dan tidak sesekali rakyat Johor yang rata-ratanya menyokong Barisan Nasional akan membenarkan Kit Siang bertapak di situ walaupun beliau mengaku itu negeri kelahirnya. Memang ada benarnya apabila mantan Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad berkata karier pemimpin veteran Dap berusia 72 tahun itu akan berkubur di Johor sambil berkata pengundi Gelang Patah hendaklah memastikan ia menjadi realiti. Begitu juga dengan tindakan pemimpin muda Dap lain seperti ahli parlimen Bukit Bendera, Liew Chin Tong yang mahu berhijrah ke Johor yang pastinya tidak akan mendapat laluan begitu mudah. Parlimen bubar seawal esok
Perdana Menteri dijangka buat pengumuman selepas mesyuarat terakhir kabinet Kuala Lumpur: Parlimen dijangka dibubarkan seawal esok selepas mesyuarat Kabinet di Putrajaya bagi membolehkan Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-13 (PRU-13) diadakan. Ini berikutan pengedaran surat daripada Jabatan Perdana Menteri meminta semua Ahli Jemaah Menteri hadir pada mesyuarat itu lengkap berpakaian lounge suit berwarna gelap dan bertali leher berwarna merah untuk sesi bergambar. Mengikut amalan sebelum ini, Ahli Jemaah Menteri akan bergambar bersama Perdana Menteri dan timbalannya pada mesyuarat terakhir Kabinet sebelum pengumuman pembubaran Parlimen selepas mesyuarat.
